SEO is not DEAD

Managing a small business can feel like a rollercoaster with its ups and downs. Raise your hand if you agree!

But… it also offers opportunities to learn and grow.

Last week, I picked up three valuable lessons that I believe could help you streamline your operations, enhance your online presence, and even find a better work-life balance.

1. SEO Basics Are Still Gold
Many think SEO is outdated, but it's far from dead!

It remains a critical strategy to boost your visibility in the crowded online space.

I recently completed an SEO course by Becca Harpain, which breaks down SEO into simple, actionable steps. Here’s what you can do right now:

  • Identify Keywords: Use tools like Google Keyword Planner to discover what your audience is searching for.

  • Update Your Content: Sprinkle these keywords naturally throughout your website.

  • Start a Blog or Update Existing Content: Post new, relevant content twice a week to keep things fresh.

  • Ensure Mobile-Friendliness: More users are on mobile now than ever, so make sure your site is up to par.

By following these steps, you can significantly boost your site's traffic and attract more customers!

2. Create Your Own ChatGPT Bot for a Personalized Experience
Ever wished for a virtual assistant who truly "gets" you? Meet "Claire," my own ChatGPT bot! It’s been a revolutionary tool in managing my creative processes. Creating your own bot is easier than you think:

  • Sign Up for ChatGPT: I suggest the paid version for the best features.

  • Customize Your Bot: Upload content that helps the bot understand your needs.

  • Reap the Benefits: Save time, reduce stress, and get a personalized experience.

3. Bookending My Day with Admin Tasks
Switching between creative and admin tasks can be draining. I found a way to manage this better—by bookending my day with administrative duties and leaving the core hours for focused work. Here’s how it works:

  • Morning and Evening: Allocate 30 minutes for emails, social media, and other admin tasks.

  • Midday Focus: Dedicate the middle of your day to deeper, more creative work or learning new skills.

This approach has made me more productive and less stressed.

On a personal note, my son Lincoln just turned 17, and I shared 17 life lessons with him. Check them out on my Instagram for some inspiration!

Lastly, a big shout-out to one of my mentees at The Bee for stepping up her on-camera confidence! Small steps can lead to big leaps.

Remember, even in business, it's the little things that often have the most significant impact. Here’s to your success!
