10 Lessons in 10 Years
Here are some real-talk lessons from my last 10 years running a gym. Trust me, it's been a wild ride, and I think you might find some of this stuff handy.
It's Way More Than You Think: Remember how I thought my gym would just be about coaching, programming, and memberships? Yeah, not even close. There's staff, systems, understanding your clients, and a whole lot more.
Seed Clients are Gold: These are the folks who make you smile and actually care about your business. They're the ones worth listening to.
Weed Clients? Not So Much: You know those who just complain? They might seem like they care the most, but don't let them get to you. They're not your focus.
Your Team is Your Backbone: Seriously, your staff is everything. Treat them right, give them their space to shine, and watch your business grow.
Speak Their Language: Find out how your team likes to be appreciated. A 'thank you' that hits home can mean the world.
Think About Owning Your Space: If you're renting, start saving bit by bit to buy your place. It's a big move, but it's worth it.
Forget the Haters: What others say about you? Doesn't matter. Just keep doing your thing.
Tough Talks Make a Tough Business: Hard conversations can be game-changers. They'll make you and your business stronger.
Ride the Highs and Lows: Some days are great, others not so much. But celebrate those good days like there's no tomorrow!
Keep On Keeping On: Every day is different. Enjoy the good, learn from the tough, and just keep going.
