Bless and Block

I had a conversation this week with one of my creatives that stopped me in my tracks.

She said,
“Ash, leads feel slow and I’m scared of this economy. What if I don’t get fully booked this year?”

Now, this woman is no rookie.
She’s always fully booked. She’s upbeat, confident, and doesn’t normally flinch at a slow lead day.

So I paused and asked her — what changed?

Turns out, she was added to a group text thread with other creatives who were spiraling.
They were sharing negative headlines, doomsday articles, and low-energy predictions about “what’s coming.”

It dragged her down.
Her mindset shifted from "I’ve got this" to "What if I don’t?"

Here’s Exactly What I Told Her:

1. Get Out of That Group.

We are the sum of the people we surround ourselves with.
Every time I’ve been in a room full of complainers, I found myself complaining more.
Every time I intentionally surrounded myself with people doing big, bold, beautiful things — I started moving faster and dreaming bigger.

That’s not a coincidence. That’s influence.

So I told her to do a quick inventory:
That group thread? Leave it.
That energy? Bless and block.
Curate a new circle — even just 5 people — who light you up, push you forward, and remind you what’s possible, not what’s broken.

And yes, that goes for your text messages, your Instagram feed, your friend circle, and even your family if you need to draw a boundary.

2. Move With Speed.

I’ve said this for years, but it’s never felt truer than now:

“I will fail twice before most people even start — because I move fast.”

I love this quote because speed isn’t about recklessness.
It’s about momentum.

In uncertain times, slow = stuck.
Fast = feedback. Fast = learning. Fast = leads.

So here’s how I told her to apply it:

  • Call leads before anyone else does.

  • Post content before it’s “perfect.”

  • Deliver faster, communicate better, and be the person who actually follows through — quickly.

Because when you combine speed with positivity, that’s when magic happens.

So Let Me Ask You:

  • What rooms do you need to leave?

  • What voices do you need to mute or bless and block?

  • And more importantly, what new rooms do you need to walk into?

If you’re craving a curated circle of creatives who are generating leads, building smart systems, and staying grounded without spiraling

Let me introduce you to The Hive.

It’s the room I built on purpose — for the exact kind of creator who’s tired of surviving and ready to scale with joy, strategy, and speed.
