Three Tips for Turning Work Off

If you're reading this, chances are you're a small business owner like me, juggling countless tasks and struggling to switch off after work.
But guess what?
It's time to reclaim our evenings and your time off!

Here are my 3 go-to strategies!

1. Get Lost in a Good Book Ever tried escaping into a novel after a long day? It's surprisingly refreshing! Here's how:

  • Find Your Genre: Pick something that excites you, whether it's thrillers or love stories. I love historical fiction! I feel like I am learning and relaxing at the same time.

  • Set Aside Time: Just 10 minutes of reading can do wonders.

  • Create a Cozy Spot: Away from your workspace, make a little reading nook.

2. Say Goodbye to Notifications Post-5 PM Our phones are like a leash to work. Let's cut the cord each evening:

  • Activate 'Do Not Disturb': Trust me, it's liberating.

  • Set Boundaries: Let your team know when you're off the grid.

  • Screen-Free Activities: Cook, play, or just chat with your loved ones.

  • The Best Tip: Leave your phone in another room. The psychological power of a phone in your hand is real. It makes others including ourselves feel tethered to the phone and not the actual people in the room.

3. End Your Day with a Ritual A simple ritual can signal your brain that work's over:

  • Choose Your Ritual: Maybe a cup of tea or a quick stroll.

  • Be Consistent: Do it at the same time every day.

  • Relax and Reflect: Write down the 3 things you accomplished during your work time. Reflect on those. Be proud of them. Then move on.

Why am I sharing this? Because life's too short to be spent worrying about work 24/7. I've tried these methods, and they've made my evenings more peaceful and my workdays more productive.
