Rule #2: If You Want Anything in Life, You Have to Plan for It.

A few weeks back, a profound statement from my mentor resonated deeply with me.
He said, "Ash, you're more of a planner than you realize." That moment was an epiphany.
I realized that the art of planning isn't just about organizing tasks or setting reminders. It's about designing a life that aligns with our dreams and aspirations.

Today, I want to share with you my five keys to great planning:

1. Consistency is Key
Find a planning method that resonates with you. Whether it's a digital tool, a physical planner, or a combination of both, the key is to stick with it. The more consistent you are, the more ingrained planning becomes in your daily routine.

2. Allocate Dedicated Time
Planning shouldn't be an afterthought. Set aside a specific day and time each week dedicated solely to planning. This uninterrupted time allows you to focus and strategize for the week ahead.

3. Create Life Buckets
Life is multifaceted. Break it down into different areas or "buckets" such as work, personal growth, family, hobbies, and health. By organizing your planner around these buckets, you ensure a holistic approach to your life, giving each aspect the attention it deserves.

4. Embrace the Details
The devil is in the details, they say. When planning, be as specific as possible. Instead of writing "Meeting at 3 pm," specify "Meeting with John at 3 pm to discuss the new project." This clarity prevents any oversight and ensures you're always prepared.

5. Have a Backup Plan
Life is unpredictable. There might be times when your primary planning tool is unavailable. Always have a secondary option to ensure your planning remains uninterrupted. This could be a digital backup or a physical one, depending on your primary choice.
